The dominant colors in the Ajrak are rich crimson and deep indigo, on a background of white and black, which gives definition to the colored geometric printed patterns. The history of the Ajrak print can be traced to as far back as the ancient Egyptian and Indus Valley civilizations. Today, the Ajrak is an essential part of the apparel of all Sindhi people; worn by men as turbans and by women as shawls.
